Milan, 24 May 2011 – A new start for Comprar casa senza rischi [Risk-Free Home Purchase], the information initiative for the public regarding home purchases and mortgages promoted by the Notarial Council of Milan which represents notaries in the municipalities of Milan, Lodi, Monza, Busto Arsizio and Varese.
The initiative was presented today in the library of the Notarial Council by the President of the Order of Milan, Domenico de Stefano, who illustrated the main new aspects of the 2011 edition, especially the extension of free up-front consulting appointments: these are normally offered in the month of November but will now be available to the public all year long.
Thus Milan sees the birth of a permanent listening and support service, free and easily accessible thanks to a dedicated website that reflects the Notarial Council of Milan’s desire to be ever more closely aligned with the needs of the citizens of Milan and of the other municipalities in the district.
Individual appointments with participating notaries can be booked as from today on the initiative’s website www.comprarcasasenzarischi.it.
On the same site, with a view to cost transparency, the Notarial Council of Milan has also made available to would-be home buyers a do-it-yourself program for making a first estimation of the costs involved in a conveyance, a mortgage or a conveyance with mortgage. With just two simple pieces of information – the price and land-registry value of the property – it is possible to have an idea of the notarial fee and all the taxes that the notary collects from the purchaser and pays to the State on his behalf.
Lastly, one section of the site is entirely dedicated to service information, with the Citizens’ Guides, written by the National Council of Notaries in collaboration with the principal consumer associations (Preliminary Guarantee, Purchase Under Construction, Certified Purchase, Mortgage Information, Price-Value, Living in a Condominium), a section containing an explanation of the most common terms relating to the purchase of a home and the taking out of a mortgage, and advice from the notaries of Milan for a “risk-free” purchase.
